Just like you delete any other file, drag the pictures to the trash, then empty your trash.

Make sure they are there and then delete them from harddrive if you are wanting more room...of course you could buy another drive and be extra careful....

Delete them in Explorer. They go to the recycle bin then that has to be emptied. It will take time.It is the best way though, better than moving them from the computer HD to the external, since you might lose some of them and not know it.

Thank you. I should have mentioned I have Apple and don't use Explorer. If I put files in the trash, is my hard drive still as full as if they were active?

I am not Mac oriented, but they must have a means of listing the separate files in the folders, and I imagine when you delete something it is put somewhere to be removed entirely from the hard drive later. It sounds like they call it the TRASH, and yes the trash is held in the hard drive. There must be a method of emptying the trash basket.
