Small files those are small jgs. If 170 only take up that much. Thats about 1mb per file... I would double check the size of each file.
I checked my P&S camera (a G9) and each of those files are about 3.5-4mb each. So you for sure shoudl check your file size. Also you don't want to fill the card too full, as the fuller it gets the slower it will get to copy to it and read it.
Also you might want to break up the ones you are copyinging into different folders, and have around 100-150 (max 200) per folder and copy 1 folder at a time. Check the size of each folder before you copy it to see how big it really is. USB bogs down when transfering a lot of files or very large files.
And by doing them in smaller steps its a lot faster. It finally coudl be the card. If the card is an older card or is starting to lose sectors and bytes, you will not be able to store anywhere as much as you should be able to and also you will start to get errors when trying to copy back off the card or read files as they will become corrupt as it keeps losing bytes.
You can always burn a DVD worst case. Or get a Thumbdrive in the 4+gb range. They are really cheap now.
Shoot even here in Alaska I can get one for under $20, and online I see the 8-16 gb for $15-40. Good Luck and hope this helps you out. I would suggest looking at the files your trying to copy over. Sounds like one of the files is corrupt or something and your computer is throwing a error when trying to copy the file. I suggest trying from scratch; format the memory card and then select 10-20 files at a time and copy them; this way you should be able to figure if a certain file is corrupted or locked by your computer, and not allowing a file copy.
If you find a file, skip it and continue with your copying process. Hope this helps. Sources: 20+ years computer use..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
