True that if you like to eat some kind of food, then your body actually need some nutrients in that food?

In my culture, it is said that if you like to eat some kind of food, then your body actually need some nutrients or ingredients in that food. I wonder if this is also said to be true in other culture? For example, if a person likes to eat orange but not apple, then it may be orange contains some nutrients that the person need especially.

The same goes with beef versus pork, and so forth. Having said that, for sure it is better if it is natural food. Sometimes we like to drink soda, but it is because we really need sugar at that moment.

But if it is too artificial, I think it will affect our insulin level and have insulin resistant syndrome. Asked by snowbird222 30 months ago Similar questions: true eat kind food body nutrients Health.

I think this is correct, I was always told that if you crave a certain type of food it is because your body needs it .

Some Folk Wisdom might say this. 1 2 Some folk wisdom in north american culture does say that this might be the case, but most conventional sense seems to say that this is not so. We like to eat food because it tastes good, not necessarily because we need certain things.

I really like sweet stuff, especially things like ice cream. I do not need the nutrients in those foods nearly as much as I like to eat them. I certainly do not need sugar, but I really like to eat sugary things.

Too much sugar leads to weight gain, elevated blood sugar, and a host of other problems. Artificial sweetners affect different people different ways. Some people are more sensitive to them.

Some people will experience a drop in blood sugar after sweetners because the body releases insulin after that sweet drink. But for many people, they just taste good and the insulin level remains stable-- something that is beneficial.

1 You eat things you need...for example craving chocolate...need magnesium. People who crave soda/coffee etc are low in energy and the caffeine gives them a boost...Many people are celiac (can't eat dairy or gluten)...it wrecks the intestines so they don't absorb nutrients...then the cells are not made right or work right...then they are low in energy/oxygen etc. They may overeat to try to get energy but still don't get energy..... then they become extremely overweight and need stomach bypasses etc People crave the taste and salt/sugar...Sugar raises blood sugar and then drops it fast making you want more sugar. People often eat for taste more than for health.

When I was pregnant I craved dairy and meat...once I craved salt and once a twinky. I don't know why the twinky..but I understood the other things. Some people eat dirt...maybe they are missing nutrients...Celiac people may crave what is hurting them....crave dairy and gluten because it stimulates opioid receptor sites in the brain like heroin...these foods make the immune system go down and cause many health issues.

Millions of people are celiac and don't know it so there health gets worse and they never figure out why.

3 #2 - TurboB, we hear often enough that people are diabetic but don't know it, so all things are possible. Chocolate: dunno what it's good for or what I'm lacking but I won't question it, lol, just try to be moderate. All those soda drinks, many advertise as boosters for one thing or another needed by the sportsminded types (Red Bull?).

I don't use them. For myself I like salads but next I get a strong yen for plain meats after that, so the body is talking to you all the time, this is especially so regarding fluids as most tend not to drink enough and we need plain water as best for the body's spring cleaning each day.

That is if you eat a normal well balanced diet.

Important a factor for preventing obesity as taste or food nutrients How Your Body Gets Nutrients from FoodsEating a wide range of foods that include a variety of nutrients is the easiest way to have a healthy diet. On this page, you'll learn why your body needs each of the following nutrients, and which foods you'll find them in: * Proteins * Carbohydrates * Fats * Vitamins and minerals * WaterProteins give your body amino acids — the building blocks that help your body's cells do all of their everyday activities. Proteins help your body build new cells, repair old cells, create hormones and enzymes, and keep your immune system healthy.

If you don't have enough protein, your body takes longer to recover from illness and you're more likely to get sick in the first place. Return to topCarbohydrates give your body a little more than half of the calories it needs to function each day. Carbohydrates give you quick energy — which is why you hear about athletes "carbo loading" before a big event.

They're fueling their bodies for the challenge to come. Fruits, vegetables, bread, pasta, grains, cereal products, crackers, dried beans, peas, and lentils are all good sources of carbohydrates. Many of them are also good sources of fiber, which your digestive system needs to stay healthy.

Return to topFats give your body the fatty acids it needs to grow and to produce new cells and hormones. Fat also helps some vitamins move through your body. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are fat-soluble vitamins, which means they need some fat to be absorbed.

They are also stored in the fatty tissues in your body and the liver. Fat also helps protect your organs against trauma. Your body stores excess calories as fat, which is saved up as reserve energyVitamins and minerals: Vitamins keep your bones strong, your vision clear and sharp, and your skin, nails, and hair healthy and glowing.

Vitamins also help your body use energy from the food you eat. Minerals are chemical elements that help regulate your body's processes. Potassium, for example, helps your nerves and muscles function.

Calcium helps your teeth and bones stay strong. Iron carries oxygen to your cells. Water is necessary for life, which makes it vital for good health.

Water makes up about 50% to 66% of your total body weight. It regulates your temperature, moves nutrients through your body, and gets rid of waste. Breast cancer treatment can sometimes cause diarrhea or vomiting.

Losing a lot of fluids plus the chemicals and minerals they contain can lead to dehydration. Sources: http://www.breastcancer.org/tips/nutrition/healthy_eat/nutrients.jsp .

Most of us can get enough of these nutrients by eating foods from the major food groups each day. Food NutrientsFood Nutrients There are six types of food nutrients. Most of us can get enough of these nutrients by eating foods from the major food groups each day.

These nutrients are discussed next. PROTEINS. — The chief function of protein in the body is to supply the tissue-building material.

Protein itself is a chemically complex organic substance that contains nitrogen in combination with carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen. In the process of digestion, these substances break down into smaller units called amino acids. These units, in turn, are rebuilt into body protein.

Certain amino acids are necessary for maintaining growth, weight, and good health. Foods are classified as protein foods only when they contain protein in sufficient amounts to be of value when the food is consumed in normal amounts. Animal protein foods-meat, poultry, fish, eggs, milk, and milk products, such as cheese-contain the necessary amino acids essential to body structure.

The protein in cereals, vegetables, and legumes lacks some of the important amino acids and alone cannot support growth. However, vegetable proteins such as dried beans, dried peas, and peanuts can supplement the animal proteins, and when they are served in the proper combination can provide all the essential amino acids without the addition of any animal protein. 1 Experts say no, but I tend to believe it.

2 I think it's the opposite. We tend to crave the foods that are bad for us- fats, salts, sugars. We eat foods that are good for us just because they are good for us.

I'm sure if people ate what they crave without thinking about it they would be eating deserts constantly, and salad bars would go out of business.

" "If you eat moldy food, will it cause cancer as the body cannot get rid of it and it grows inside you. " "If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? " "Is it true that eating blackened, or burnt food... is bad for your health?

If you eat moldy food, will it cause cancer as the body cannot get rid of it and it grows inside you.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
