Option 2. The reason on why WWE doesn't want to book Taker vs Cena at WM is because WWE doesn't want Cena to receive a heel reaction. I say, BS!
OMG, he has been receiving a heel reaction against anyone he faced for four years! WWE Board Directors must have been living under a rock. Cena has been getting booed for many years now, ever since the classic One Night stand against RVD.
He got booed against a heel Orton, booed against a heel Edge booed against many people. The simple fact is people do not like his superhero gimmick. So yes, a match against Undertaker can not hurt his rep any more then it currently is.
Also Cena being booked would actually have people on edge because people know the WWE might book him to win. More surprising then Henry vs Taker anyway. As for Taker vs Sting, it's a dream match for ages but too bad it will never happen.
If Undertaker can hang around for one more year, it is highly possible the match will happen. Who else is their to face? Sure, Jericho is a good choice, but he has faced Taker at least five times on the last four months.
Who wants to see Taker going against someone he defeats on daily basis? Not to mention Taker has defeated bigger present stars than Jericho in the form of Edge & Randy Orton, what would make anyone with half a brain believe Jericho could end The Streak? Moreover, after defeating Randy Orton, Batista, Edge, and Mr. Wrestlemania twice in a row at his very own grandest stage, do you think people would believe Chris Jericho or Sheamus could end The Streak if Mr. Wrestlemania couldn't do it two years in a row on his own grandest stage?
After Taker defeated Triple H & Ric Flair, no one but Vince McMahon bought The Threat of Big Show & A-Train, right? Not that I say Jericho is on the same level as A-Train, but the situation is the same. As for Taker vs Cena, this would truly be the irresistible force (Cena) vs. The immovable object (The Undertaker).
Let's say Cena, superstar of the year for 2009, multitime WWE and World Champion, the guy who ALWAYS overcoming the odds! Now, match that up against The Undertaker. He's constantly booked as and referred to as the greatest WWE star of all time (or right near the top of the list), and in recent years his entire character has revolved around his undefeated streak at Wrestlemania.
That streak, love it or hate it, has been built up as the most hallowed and revered accomplishment in the business, something that many believe will NEVER be broken. It's pretty much taken on a life of it's own, especially since it started to mean something and The Undertaker began facing real opponents who could test it. Nobody, not Batista, not Edge, not even Shawn Michaels or Triple H, could offer the type of drama and suspense from a streak match than John Cena.
Let's face it, John Cena is really the final frontier. He's the only one with a legitimate shot to win who hasn't faced the streak yet. With age and injury finally catching up to The Undertaker, who knows how many chances WWE will have left in the future to capatilize on a chance like this?
And using the current roster in WWE, what singles match has the possibility to draw more than 93,173 attendance? IMO, it's only Taker vs Cena at WM 27 if Taker can defeat HBK and Cena can defeat Batista this year. Being held in Georgia Dome with Cena (as we knew it) booked as an irresistible force ever since his run as an icon against Taker who is booked as an immovable object at Wrestlemania for nearly 2 decades in the second largest domed structure in this world?
The attention this match could garner is unimaginable, and the hype would be out of this planet. WWE would be an idiot to avoid booking this match again if Taker goes 18-0 and Cena defeats Batista this year. Let's face it, no other matches come close.
Not Taker vs Sheamus or Taker vs Jericho. And of course not another Cena vs Orton or Cena vs HHH for the millionth time. Even IWC virgins & WWE No Balls Board Directors have to admit Cena is the biggest draw and threat for The Streak, more so than Jericho, Punk, Sheamus, or Ted DiBiase Jr all combined.
The Undertaker vs John Cena at Wrestlemania XXVII IS the match that needs to happen in order to capitalize this era, regardless who wins. Taker vs Jericho CANNOT capitalize this era, but Taker vs Cena CAN. Sure, there are many big man wrestlers type mid-carders (i.
E: Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Ezekiel Jackson, and Vance Archer) in WWE currently. But let's face it, The Undertaker could never carry giants into a legendary match at Wrestlemania. Giant Gonzales, King Kong Bundy, Big Boss Man, Big Show, A-Train, and Mark Henry proved that.
Of course, Masked Kane, Diesel, Sid, and Batista proved otherwise. But look at the record, 4 out of 10 giants? Less than half right?
Why would throw another 50:50 chance with a no name? You want to witness another bad match for The Streak after five failures? And didn't I mention about the 'Threat' a lot in the above sentences?
Sheamus would be an excellent opponent for Wrestlemania 27 because these two have not faced each other before and neither do they have anything in common. But something better would be turning this all into a "Fatal-4-Way" match for the WWE Championship title. This would also be very risky for Undertaker's winning streak.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
