Unique vs. very unique: what's up with that?

Exactly that. "Unique" = "one of a kind. " A thing is either the only one of a kind or there is another one like it and it is NOT unique.

Thus, a thing can never be "very unique" nor even "sort of unique. " As "unique" = "one of a kind," there can be logical qualifiers with it. Thus do we misuse language rather than pause and think about what we're saying.

Besides, if a person were to actually take the time to think about sentences before speaking them, someone else would interrupt with her or his own unthought sentences and one would never say anything! Then again, that might not be such a bad thing.

No such thing as... ...very unique tho it is commonly heard. Think about it - unique - one of a kind - can it be one-of-a-kinder? Poor usage..

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
