It better to wait until Symfony 2.3 before migrating. It will be released somewhere in May . It's the first LTS (Long Time Support) release, meaning that it's maintained for three years.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
