Is your problem the conversion from tBox. Text to Date, or is it at the sql update query level? -- You should probably give the sql statement a parameter with a strict type.

Converting from tBox. Text into test should probably be done in a Culture aware manner.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
