I’m not going to thumbs down MoreFool’s answer, but I am going to correct some gross errors in some of the points that were brought up. Of the many issues in Vietnam that still linger from the Vietnam War, the two biggest issues are dioxin exposure (a.k.a. Agent Orange) and unexploded ordinance.
The herbicide known as Agent Orange is still widely used today. In fact, you are likely exposed to it if you ate any fruits or vegetables from the U.S. The problem with Agent Orange is not the herbicide but the chemicals mixed with it and spread across Vietnam and Korea during the respective wars. The dioxins are what caused the massive health issues with thousands of American Vietnam Veterans and hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese.
Such problems continue to plague us even today. Just two years ago, a large chemical dump was discovered at a remote part of the air base in Da Nang. Dioxin found at that location was in excess of 300 times safe levels.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
