Anyway, the only reasons I've heard for people not likely George is that, for a time, he was a bit too preachy, perhaps even fanatical, about his religious beliefs (ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, which is closely related to Hinduism). The other reason is that he was considered hypocritical because, while he preached one thing, he cheated on his wives, Pattie and then Olivia, and also used drugs and drank, which were strictly against his religion. I can kind of see the point, but hey, we all do things we know are wrong, plus he never pretended to be a saint.
He gave so much to charities -- not to mention the incredible music he wrote, including one of the greatest love songs ever! He helped keep Monty Python in movies and got together the greatest rock musicians for the Bangla Desh concert and the Traveling Wilburies. But more important than all of that put together is that his accent still makes me melt!
I don't know anyone that hates him! People talk more about Lennon's death because he was murdered at a young age. Harrison died of cancer and it was well-documented in the news so it was more like people were expecting it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
