I think he was out of line. The Confederate flag doesn't represent slavery, or racism, it just represents Southern pride. Your ancestor was a good, honorable man if he was willing to fight for what he believed in, and don't listen to any of the trolls telling you he wasn't.
No.. It was a 150 years ago. I have ancestors who fought on both sides. I have lived in Texas 80% of my life and I have never owned a Confederate/Rebel Flag.. Time to move on.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
