Only an exceptionally small group of Christians made any such claim. Of course, that hasn't stopped the atheists from their usual practice of painting the entire group with the same brush. Anything to justify their hatred, I guess.

In the case of Japan, though, it was a high government official who said it on world media, and he is not even Christian. He said the quake and the tsunami were punishment to Japanese people for having become too selfish.
