Was the wizard in the wizard of Oz the first real world character* to have a virtual persona?

Satan/Devil. My reason for believing this is based on the teachings of Christianity. Satan/Devil took on many manifestations, one of which was to speak through a serpent to Eve, in the Garden of Eden.

Thus "seducing her into disobeying God’s commands" and suffering the consequences by she and Adam being cast out of the Garden of Eden. 003:013 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
