We have rats/mice in the attic of our rental home. Landlord says everyone has this. What can we do?

If it's rats, she has a duty to get rid of them as it's health and safety and she can get it done for free via the Council! She is breaking the law! IF it's simply mice, she's not breaking the law and doesn't have to get rid of them.

You can however offer to go halves with her using the local Council Pest control which is cheaper than a private company. You can buy traps and poison in Homebase and do that while you wait for the pest control. You need to find out if it's rats or mice, as there is a big difference!

Call SHELTER for free, they are a housing advice line. Also contact your local council and speak with Envionmental Health!

Options: a) report the problem to your student housing advice service, b) get a pest control person in and pay for the rodent problem to be eliminated or c) contact the local council environmental health department for advice (as they may be able to come and eliminate the rats or enforce the landlord to do so).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
