Were butane lighters for sale in the US in 1935? Novelists seem to think so?

In the 1930s, naphtha was the primary fuel for lighters. Naphtha is on oily liquid that is a petroleum derivative. During the thirties and forties a new concept was being developed in lighters.

We cannot be sure on who conceived this idea, but we know that Ronson began to mass produce portable lighters that used butane as the fuel. There were butane lighters that existed in 1935, but they were a rarity. The odds are against finding one, as butane lighters were in a development stage, versus a production stage.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
