It's one of the fasting growing sports in popularity. - It became popular in the mid 1800's - Different types of rock climbing include top-roping, sport climbing, and traditional climbing. - Rock climbs can be anything from a few to thousands of metres.
- Important pieces of equipment include: rope, harness, shoes, chalk, nuts, karabiners and slings Hope this helps!
Rock climbing also includes bouldering (climbing without rope onto rocks/walls/boulders that are usually not taller then 5-15' until one reaches the top). Bouldering requires less stamina/endurance but lots of strengh for short difficult moves. Face climbing requires more endurance.
Bouldering does not require any gear (by choice climbers wear rock climbing shoes and use chalk as well as crash pads to soften the fall). Wall/Face climbing (unless it is free solo) requires a belayer (unless one sets up a self-belay), rope, harness, shoes, chalk, belay device, carabiner, helmet, quick draws, trad gear, knowledge of knots and climbing commands, brain... Rock climbing works your entire body and is an excellent workout. It strengthens balance, scapula, back muscles, shoulders, arms and hands.
You get dinged up at times and can get insured if not careful but it is a great goal oriented sport.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
