What actions would prompt you to 'block' or 'unfriend' someone on FB?

The thrill of Facebook is gone for me. I don't visit for weeks. I've dropped the angry ranters who do nothing but complain, complain, complain.

I am tired of the cute kiddy photographs, the vacations, and the braggarts who need to post every move they make. I quit posting anything I've done when it comes to my life. I am now being a real family member and friend.

I do take the time when it comes to meeting my family and friends for lunch, dinner or social events. In other words, I've gotten a life and look forward to spending time with my family and friends.

Well, I've just un-friended someone on Facebook I met in high school as he was being sexually harassive. Un-friend this person right away. I'd tell you to do that, even if you were living next door to this person as I wouldn't want anything to do with that type of hatefulness.

I experience the same as you. All the name calling and insulting comments got on my nerves. Then I remembered, "I don't have to deal with this girl."

I am no longer a teen and she would talk to me as if we were on an episode of, "Bad Girls Club. " So I deleted her. The funny part is she had the audacity to send me a friend request with a message saying, "B-word, I can't believe you effing deleted me!"

This is where that block feature came in handy, lol! I also had an experience due to that darn 'mutual friends' listing where a creepy ex from freaking middle school found me. Why he was sending me creepy romantic messages after all these years was beyond me.

I ignored the friends request and would just delete the messages. But after 4 of them I had to block him. The way he was writing to me as if we knew each other all this time and like we had a great experience was so creepy, it freaked me out!

Now, my FB page is protected where nobody can find me. Damned Creepers!

I have never blocked anyone on Facebook. I have deleted people though. Not because we disagreed about one thing or another, but because we no longer talked or they kept pelting me with messages every single moment I was online.

I only do that last one when I don't really know the person too well or we don't have much to talk about. It just makes me go, "Ok, what do we have to say to one another that we didn't talk about fifty times in the past week?

Lol I definitely agree I have one of those on my page but I haven't deleted him. S presence on my page hasn't repulsed me in that way, I just don't read his post. There are some people you delete just because.....they don't add anything to your life neither take anything away so you might as well.

Facebook for me serves a different purpose then just keeping in contact, Sharing my business or wanting attention. Outside of reading some of the funny videos pictures and post, I think the only reason im on there is to play family feud. It is funny how someone can be having so much fun that they stop whatever they are doing to tell the world.......or put every single photo of your relationship online (i guess that is to make folk jealous) oh k!

Exciting! Lol you fancy huh?!?!

Disrespect, privacy issue, the person not being a friend at all! I did took out a few people really ignored me so much that I just did them a favor by removing them... and a stalker ex too.

Unfriending them will send them a message that you do not approve of what they are doing. If that's how you feel, then go fot it, Ignoring them is a gentler way to get them out of your life, without upsetting them or letting your mutual friends know you don't want anything to do with this person. Ignoring is a nice feature on Facebook.

I have used it for a number of reasons. Primarily to block people who I am friendly with but post obnoxious stuff. Also to keep the clutter down, so I can see what my good friends are up to.

I agree with Arlene that hearing all about extravert's lives on Facebook gets old fast.

I think what you did was right. Honestly, I block people or delete them for much simplier things. My "best friend" and I got into a huge fight and we are no longer FB friends.

If I see a "friend" in public and they don't say hi and act like they know me, they will be blocked.

I deleted a FB friend when he posted on his status bragging that he just got back from a seal hunt and what a great time he had...I was shocked, did not have any idea about that side of him....couldn't delete him fast enough. I have also deleted people who update their status every 2 minutes, I don't always care when they make a sandwich, have a shower, walk to the store, etc. Lol.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
