I asked if he was real when I was 5, and my parents told me the truth. I was not upset at all. I am wondering what age other people were and how they felt.

Don't really remember We have always told our kids that some people believe in Santa and some don't. When someone tells them there is no Santa, we just remind them that some people don't believe and that everyone has to decide for themselves. So far, they have always chosen to believe.
They are currently 9 and 11 and they both still believe; in fact, they both even wrote a letter to Santa and mailed it. This is probably our last year that they'll believe. As for myself, I really, honestly don't remember how old I was when I found out.
I think it happened slowly over a year or two and that's why I don't remember exactly. People have told me that letting my children believe is being cruel since they'll be hurt when they find out, but if I can't even remember how hold I was when I found out, I guess it couldn't have been all that traumatic. I want my kids to enjoy the magic for as long as it is healthy for them to do so..
I was eight years old.... I am the baby of seven so, I was kept in the dark.. It seems unlikely.. but, it was done! They were all given direct orders to make it last forever.. Until one day.. I began walking to school with a ten year old neighbor, Roseann... she said, "Lisa.. do you believe in Santa Claus? " I was so happy that I got to sit on Santa’s lap and had my picture taken the day before that I answered, "Yes" proudly.
She said, "You are so stupid.. there’s no such thing... it’s your parents! I said, "No sir.. I saw him. " She went on to tell me that I was tricked.
I wanted to cry, but I kept my chin up and continued to cross the bridge to the school. I thought about it all day at school.. at recess I asked a boy in my class. He said, "I don’t know."
The thought never crossed my mind again.. until Christmas eve when it was time for bed.. My mother said.." you better go to bed.. Santa is coming. " I chuckled and had a very mischievous grin on my face, kissed everyone goodnight and said my prayers, and hoped that Santa would make my house first on his list! I sat up high in my bunk bed with thoughts of Santa climbing down our chimney, and leaving me the Baby Alive doll that I wanted, and a Kick-and-go scooter.
I was determined to catch a glimpse of Santa! I forced myself to stay awake.. I heard bells ringing and I got excited that it was Santa himself all dressed in his red suit.. I saw my parents hurrying around and then my door shut. I got up and opened it just enough to peek out.. I could see my parents eating Santa’s cookies and milk, laughing together and kissing under the mistletoe... and then out came my scooter and doll from the attic and my brothers Big Wheel and a Lego set.
I saw plenty of games go past my door... Connect Four, Operation, Twister and Monopoly! I was so upset that I started to cry...as I saw my mother and father running around wrapping and then stashing the gifts under the tree. I shut my bedroom door slowly and then I climbed back into bed, with tears still dripping down my face.
The next morning my brother was very surprised, as he came running in to get me at our normal sunrise routine. I jumped down and went to see what all I got from "Santa. " I asked my parents if Santa was real.. My parents sat me down and told me the truth.
I remember crying as my father was saying..."You have to believe in Santa.. to have your wish come true. " It has been thirty years, and to this day.. I still believe in Santa! Sources: My discovery of the man in the red suit... named Santa Claus!

I was 9. I was 9 years old. However, I had a little brother and even though I had questions about Santa, my parents kept up the charade so that my brother's perception of Christmas wasn't ruined.
I remember being upset that Santa was not real...then, of course, I had to tell my brother. No wonder my parents didn't tell me, huh? .
Age 6 and a half you sart to notice things that don't seem right..Like how could Santa possibly fit in our chimineys .
I don't remember the exact age, but... My parents never told me he existed. The first time it came up they told me he wasn't real, but that some children believed in him and I shouldn't spoil it for them because it was fun for them. Same with the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny. It never bothered me.
Well actually I was 11. I found out when I was 11 because of these symptoms:1. I looked on a site and said he wasn't real, next I asked my dad and he said no.
I reccomend not telling till they stop believing :) .

" "At what age did you tell your parents that you had found out that Santa was not real?" "Would it be better NOT telling our little children about Santa Claus?
I seriously got lectured by someone because I *allow* (it's the way she said it! ) the belief in Santa Claus.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
