What animals are there in Oman?

Oman, surprisingly, has a diverse dimension of animals in the country. It is located in the Middle East. Most of Oman's animals are adapted to the live in desert.In the recent years there have been strict measures taken against hunting animals in order to stop the extinction of animals that are currently in vulnerable status.

Currently, there is absolutely no killing of wildlife animals. There have been over 400 types of birds recorded in Omar. Currently one of the most renowned animals in Oman is the Arabian Oryx, which can also be found in the neighboring countries.

Nubian Ibex is particularly found in the Middle Eastern countries and is also common in Oman. One of Oman's native animals that is quite special to Oman is the Arabian Tahr. It mainly lives in the mountains and is very much adapted to deserts.

One of Oman's native animals is Canis lupus Arabs, which is also known as the Arabian Wolf. They look somewhat like dogs, but unlike the original wolves they do not howl nor do they walk in groups. One can find them in groups of 4-5.

Oman also has most of the Arabian Leopards whose number dropped to 200. The Caracal Lynx, which is a fox-like animal, is also popularly known in Oman. It is obvious from their skin color that they have been living in the desert for some time (sandy colored fur).

The Arabian Fox or Vulpes vulpes Arabica is also common in Oman. They usually live in the deserts and have very strong immune system.
