If so, would this be more valuable than a letter of recommendation from one of my college professors. What actual work experience can I show that will improve my chances of getting accepted to a more prestigious graduate program? Most programs are looking for "work experience in the form of a summer internship", what documentation can I provide that shows I have been working and have gained some experience as a result?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
