What are great examples for revenue generating mahalo pages and why are they successful?

Even though I'm not really that much of a SEO guy, I know several Mahalo pages that have hit off big time, and many that haven't. I'm still not entirely sure why some fail, where others succeed, but here are some thoughts: 1. Farmville Cheat Codes: One of the biggest pages of all time is Farmville Cheat Codes.

While Cheat pages are always doing moderately well, this page is doing WAY better than any other page. It might be because it is about as highly popular game, Farmville, but I don't think that's the entire story here. While the page has some interesting content, it is not even exceptionally great.

Also, there are many other Farmville cheat codes pages out there on the Internet. What makes this one stand out? First, from what I understand, the Page Manager, AmyBrowne, has a wide social network, and when the page was created, she effectively used that network to get the page 'register' with Google and other search engines.

Next, after it ranked on the search engines, she kept the page up to date with regular changes, ensuring search engines kept ranking it highly. I don't know if she used any other SEO tricks, but until today, this single page is the most profitable (as far as I know) and highest hit-generating page on Mahalo. What made it work: - Combination of two topics of high interest (Farmville and Cheat Codes) - Big Social Network - Regular Updates 2.YouTube.

Obviously, youtube is a huge topic, both at Mahalo, and on the Internet. Big topics don't necessarily result in high-traffic pages, but youtube does. Because Mahalo has a wide range of youtube related pages, many pages link to the youtube page, making it more attractive to google and other search engines.

Plus, more and more related pages keep emerging. Every new page featuring a Youtube video liks to the youtube page, keeping the attention of search engines high. What made it work: - ghly active topic - Many pages inlinking to it - Regularly new pages linking to it.

3. Malavika Blue Film: This is one of my own pages, which is quite popular, and becoming more and more popular over time. This page provides information about a topic that is quite current in the eastern part of the world, especially India. India, China and other countries in that region are increasingly getting active on the Internet, and start searching for content, which is sometimes a bit 'shady'.

For Malavika, this 'shady' content refers to an alleged sex scandal, she was involved in. While the scandal turned out to be not about her herself (someone had pasted her photo on the body of someone else in compromising situations), people are still looking for that content. Many sites only use the term to 'trap' Internet users, not providing any actual content.

The Mahalo page stands out between all those pages, actually providing content on the topic, making it very interesting for search engines and users. Still, what really lifted the page, was the creation of a series of related pages, including Blue Films, Aishwarya Rai Blue Film, Malavika, Malavika MMS Scandal, Malayalam Blue Film, Marathi Blue Film and Tamil Blue Film. This entire set activated Malavika Blue Film, making it a page that gets increasing numbers of hits.

What made it work: - Scandalous news topic - Better content than other pages on the Internet - Related pages, that in-link to it While these pages appear to be the 'hits' on Mahalo, there are also many 'misses'. I have created quite a few pages about very active topics, that didn't fly. I managed Formula One, adding lots of content, keeping it up to date with every race weekend, but it got no hits.

I created several 'World Cup' pages, but so far, they don't seem to become active either. I don't quite understand why yet. Maybe there is just too much great content about those subjects already out there (like the official Formula One site), to make people need to resort to the Mahalo page instead, maybe it is simply a matter of 'bad luck'.

My advice: Try to find a topic where you feel you can REALLY add something interesting, that is no-where to be found on the Internet so far, and you KNOW people are going to be looking for. Create several pages about the topic, in-link them, and keep them updated regularly, and you might have a winner.

1) It's important to realize that there isn't a secret formula to revenue generating Mahalo pages. In fact, there isn't a secret to any content on the Internet that earns money. It's simply good content.

Clear, concise, interesting writing is the only consistent factor on outstanding Mahalo pages. 2) Time and luck. Beyond great content, time and luck are the biggest factors in a successful Mahalo page.

A well written page will be shared amongst friends online and will be centered around an interesting topic that doesn't have a lot of competition on the Internet. Here's an example of a page that has been around for a long time and has simply been lucky: mahalo.com/christmas-sweaters 3) Clear, concise and interesting. I use these 3 words A LOT.

Beyond word counts and minimum requirements, the content that you write needs to be clear to understand, simple to read and interesting enough to grab the attention of the reader. Page titles, SEO and everything else aside, clear, concise and interesting content is a very important characteristics of successful Mahalo pages. Over 75% of Mahalo's traffic comes from Google. When people search Google, they are looking for an answer to a question. When someone types in the title of your page into Google and visits your page, will they find what they're looking for?

It's a lot of work to author a great article. It's even harder to keep that article updated.

Updating a page to reflect current information and simply to become 20% better then anything else online is very important for a number of reasons. Similarly, ensuring that your page is matching keywords (without detracting at all from clear, concise and interesting content) is important. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
