What are popular periods for reenactments where people sew their own costumes?

You can find a reenactment group for just about any time period. I have been personally involved in Medieval, Renaissance and World War II groups. All these groups made garb for there personas.

Also, if you get involved with a group but cannot sew your own clothing there is always someone willing to help and teach. For medieval / renaissance time period try the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronisms) at sca.org/ For world war II era try the Living story regiment at ww2livinghistoryregiment.us/ Also the single action shooting society reenacts the old west of America. They do alot of costuming as well as a lot of target shooting. http://www.sassnet.com.

There are many people who reenact battles of the American Revolution. You can go to these sites for more information on this: brigade.org/ continentalline.org/ britishbrigade.org/ nwta.com.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
