For staunch Republicans, they wanted Bush re-elected at all costs. Although he did not do a good job in his first term, Republicans did not want a Democrat (Al Gore) to win. This determination caused Republicans to throw away ballots that were for Gore, have drivers who drove voters arrested for not having a chauffeur's license, told Black voters that they were closed to votes (hours earlier than was required), but allowed White voters to vote by entering another entrance, disqualifying Black voters who had their voter's registration card but no ID (wasn't required for White voters); although Gore won the popular vote, the electoral college consisting of mostly Republicans did not give their votes to Gore, but to Bush instead.
Thus Bush was re-elected sending this country into vast unemployment, an illegal senseless war looking for nonexistent weapons of mass destruction, and divided America due to a stolen election. Eight years of Bush rule, sunk this country so deep that Obama hasn't been able to pull it completely out of the hole yet. Although Bush rule started this country's downward spiral, Obama was blamed for starting the war and the unemployment situation.
Bush supporters still in Congress have continued to block Obama's laws that would help unemployment, farmers, and America.
It started with his pointless war in Iraq. That ended up dropping our economy into the shithole that it's been for 10 years. Not to mention all the servicemen and women who have lost their lives.
No Obama's president but hasn't been able to do anything about it because of his of how bad bush made it as well as he may not be the most experienced. I voted for Obama but didn't get the "change" he promised. Oh well.
I would have voted republican this upcoming election but now it looks like Romney is going to be running against the Incumbent. From what I've heard about his background, he's likely to make our economy worse, at least for the middle class. So I'm probably going to vote 3rd party, or just not at all, because I'm not voting for Obama again.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
