I have dry skin as well. I personally take Aveeno baths for dry skin. When I get out of the tub I apply a nice thicker lotion.
I am very picky about what lotion I use. I find that the thin, cheap, runnier ones do not work well. I do not like Avon lotion either.
One of the lotions I find moisturizing is actually Bath and Body works. She can apply lotion once a day. A healthy diet, exercise and plenty of water can help as well.
For the feet I was taught an amazing secret. Apply lotion to your feet. I usually put alot of lotion on them.
Then put a plastic bag over your feet. Next put a pair of socks over the bags. It is suggested to sleep like this, but I usually just do it for a few hours.
When you take the bags and socks off your skin is baby butt soft and very moisturized!
I think the best way to help relieve and prevent dry skin is to keep moisturizing the skin and keep hydrated. Make sure to drink at least 8 cups of water per day. You can apply water to the skin, dabbing it and letting it air dry.
The water will soak into the skin, helping to replenish the moisture. Applying lotions can help too, if used on a regular basis. I read that lemon juice is also effective at keeping moisture in.
One time I used a sesame oil based lotion on my skin. It helped but also be sure not to use too much because it will leave the skin feeling too oily, an exact opposite problem of the dry skin. I hope some of these methods are helpful.
I can sympathise with your aunt, I get the same problem, especially in winter. We have very hard water in my area, this doesn't help either. I find the best way to deal with dry skin is to take a warm bath or shower, then when your skin is still damp, gently rub in baby oil.
Although it feels very oily at first, the skin quickly absorbs the baby oil and the dampness left by the water is trapped in the skin and helps to moisturise it. If you are prone to this problem, unfortunately there is no cure as such, but this method requires little time, effort or expense and will quickly improve dry skin. I have tried expensive body lotions and they have not been as effective as baby oil.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
