What are some good places in Melbourne, Australia to visit?

Take him to the art gallery in St Kilda Rd, also to the one in Federation square, there is a good exhibition of Australian art there. Take him to Werribee Park Zoo. Take him to Ballarat to the pioneer museum / park there (look up on tourist websites), it's all about the gold rush etc. As for your anniversary, depends how much money you want to spend.

You could take him up to Carlton and get really good Italian food quite cheaply at Ti Amo in Lygon St. Or if you wanted to splash out, go to the European in Spring St in the city (you will need to book there). Take him for a drive down to the Mornington Peninsula. I think going for a drive in the Dandenongs is a good idea too.

Take him to St Kilda on a tram. Take him on a tram to the Zoo for a day out. You get the 55 tram and ask the driver to tell you which stop to get off.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
