There is an entire culture which goes largely unnoticed in the mainstream media which has forever changed the music of future generations. It is starting to be recognized in the mainstream media, but only for the personal gain of corporations trying to market to a younger audience, thus trying to use a "cooler" and "younger" sound. I am of course talking about Electronic Dance Music.
Some of the most influential musicians of the 21st century are EDM producers. A lot of the music you hear on the radio now is either produced or co-produced by these EDM artists. Some extremely influential EDM producers: 1.
Pendulum - This group managed to take an obscure genre of music titled "Drum and Bass", which was largely only heard in underground rave parties, and thrust it into the mainstream consciousness by fusing elements of live rock music into the originally electronic only music. Pendulum now plays sold out shows all across the globe. 2.
David Guetta - This house producer managed to take a stranglehold on the hip-hop/r&b world in the recent years, changing the perception of those who listen to these genres about the once frowned upon sound of electronic and house music. At one time the sound of house music was not only dis-liked by those lovers of hip-hop/r&b, but it was down right hated. Now just about every other song you hear has a four on the floor house beat, an off-beat 1/8th note bass which gives the typical "bouncy" house rhythm, and synths galore!3.
Rusko - This producer managed to take a sound which was in it's infancy, a new genre called "Dubstep", and shoot it to the top of the music world almost effortlessly. In five short years this sound of Dubstep has gone from barely recognized, to being one of the most searched genres of music on Google. And Rusko played a huge role in this.
He took a sound which originally was all about the bass and had little musical composition, and fused it with elements of live music such as Reggae. This made it instantly accessible to non-edm music lovers. This opened a whole new market for electronic music as a whole, and has given EDM producers a much larger platform to share their music.
There are many more who have helped take this new form of music from obscurity, and bring it to the forefront of today's music. Because of the artists listed here, and many others like them, EDM is now taken seriously by the music industry. It is seen as a formidable genre and a huge money maker.
They have also altered the musical landscape forever. The music of future generations has been permanently altered.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
