Every year now, I do computer-animated light displays on my home. For those not familiar, individually controlled sets of lights are sequenced to music to create an amazing and dazzling display. In the past I've done a few songs from Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mannheim Steamroller, and even edited my own version of jingle bells together. I'm getting a late start this year, but I'm desperate for some really rhythmic songs, preferably Christmas-themed.
The ideal song needs to be nice to listen to but also have many parts either layered or in sequence. This is important so that I have plenty of beats to work with when matching lights to music. I do a lot of searching for my songs, but I would like the community's input.
I LOVE to get new material that I haven't heard before. TSO has been and will always be a staple in almost all animated light displays, but if there is another great band or two out there, I'd love to hear it and consider songs for my display, last-minute though it may be. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
