Energy conservation should be practiced in every home. Conservation not only helps us cut our utility bill, it also helps in keeping our planet healthy. Energy conservation is a mind set, and good habits need to be enforced, while bad habits need to be broken, and eliminated.
You could start, by having a family meeting, and educating your family in saving energy. Getting everyone educated will aid in your success to energy conservation. Small purchases that add up to a lot of savings include florescent bulbs, sealant and caulking, and timers on water heaters and lights. It won’t help as much whether or not you have an incandescent or florescent bulb if you continue to forget to turn it off.
Porch lights and other exterior lights often escape our radar, and we sometimes find out about it when the sun is up but the light is still on. In this case, you can either use a timer, or a motion detector. This may not seem like much, but if you consider that most exterior bulbs are flood and spot lights, this could quickly add up to a considerable savings.
Utilizing natural lighting in the home is always a zero energy tactic. Open up your windows, remove light blockers and let the sunlight in. For other helpful tips, visit: ecomall.com/greenshopping/20things.htm.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
