Well, one disadvantage of stockinette stitch is that the edges will curl. This isn't much of a problem with garments where the seams will be sewn but makes it unsuitable for items like scarves. You can overcome this with using garter stitch borders, which will lie flat.
Also, many pattern stitches, such as cables, result in a right side-wrong side finish, which again is fine with sewn together garments, but can make awkward scarves or blankets/afghans. As for advantages, I'm not sure if this would work, but one advantage that knit fabric has over say, crochet fabric, is that it uses significantly less yarn. This of course results in a thinner garment, which can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on what you're looking for, but overall it costs much less to create a knit garment when compared to a crocheted garment.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
