Now with over 10,000 apps the Android Marketplace offers applications for just about everything. This compares favorably with iPad Apps but isn’t even close to the amount of apps available for the iPhone.
Popularity is a hard thing to gauge. One of the most downloaded applications is the Weather Channel App. ESPN and CNN are also popular applications.
When shopping for a tablet don’t be confused by apps that are only available for phones. The problem is there is right now only one real Android Tablet, which is the Samsung Galaxy. It runs on Google’s 2.2 Android OS that is not really an OS designed for a tablet according to Google. It was designed for the Android phone market.
Having three tablets from Samsung, HP and Dell that are three different sizes further confuses the Android Tablet Market. This complexity will slow down the development of an Android OS for tablets.
