Im not an expert or anything but froom using prismacolors for a while I think they are worth every penny! It depends on your preference and art style. If you use pencils, draw alot and do alot of preliminary drawings/concepting, like me, use prismacolor col-erase pencils.
If you like sketching, hatching, I recommend verathin. Coz they don't smudge, and can really be crisp and fine for a while. If youre the blending and shading type, I say prismacolor soft core.
Rich color, and really made for putting down color. The art stix, is fun too! But it all depends on you.
There are many techniques in doing portraits. So i'll suggest trying all of them. Buy one or two pencils each to sample and feel it.
They have a mix media set that contains most of them if you can afford it. :3.
Prisma color pencils are excellent for aspiring artists. I find that soft core pencils are the most versatile and work best for portrait work.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
