Actually, there is no free alternative to Adobe Acrobat right now. Adobe Acrobat is an advanced program that offers several tools to create, edit and view PDF files. You can edit text & images, add sticky notes, encrypt or decrypt PDF files, combine, split or reorder PDF files, etc.You can also insert multimedia content such as audio or flash video into the PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat.

But, if you are just looking for a basic PDF Writer, there are several free alternatives available.
