UBC (University of British Columbia) is a nice place to check out, it's a gorgeous campus. We also went up the Grouse Grind, which is quite a hike. You can take the gondola up and down, or take the grind up, and gondola back down (which is what most people do).

Supposedly the Capillo Suspension bridge is cool, however, I didn't go, so I can't say first hand.
