What are the best public universities or liberal arts colleges for graphic or visual communications design?

I'm trying to stay away from strictly art schools (parson's, SCAD, art institutes, etc. ) Also, any in the south or midwest would be best, but I'm open to all suggestions. UAA University of Alaska, Anchorage has a good program. So does the smaller Campus of Kenai Pen. College, its part of UAA also.

The fees are very reasonable, and actually KPC is doing all students get Instate tuition fees, so no extra fee for being from out of state. And there is so much to Photograph. The Digital Arts Degree they offer is a 2 yr program, and very good.

I know several of the teachers, esp the Photography Prof. They are also doing some of them as Online classes so they fit into busier schedules better. Check it out. Either one would be good.

And Alaska is a Great state to live in. Also so you know the weather on the Kenai Penisula is often (and Normally) warmer in the winter than the Twin Cities (MPLS/St. Paul) are. Its Fairbanks that is really cold.

I think you'll find more complete lists elsewhere, but I can offer one suggestion: Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). It's a full university and VCUarts is the #1 public arts school in the country according to U.S. News. vcu.edu/arts/ edu/arts.

Why are community colleges cheaper than universities.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
