What are the characteristics of a shakespearean tragedy?

They obviously need to contain some kind of tragedy in the plot e. G tragic deaths in Romeo and Juliet. If you look at all of Shakespeare's main tragedies (including Macbeth and King Lear) they all contain some form of doom and gloom.

Also, the main character(s) are usually made to be liked by the audience and have both a good and a bad side to them. The hero usually has some kind of dark side which leads to their downfall. Often, supernatural forces are also involved.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
