I didn't check all of your drugs but you need to stop taking wellbutrin and strattera immediately. Not one person on here mentioned it, but in medical terms-wellbutrin inhibits the hepatic CYP450 (3b) that metabolizes strattera In Laymens terms: The thing that breaks down the strattera in your body is inhibited by wellbutrin. This means that your body won't break down the drug as fast and you will have higher doses.
This could lead to many liver problems, including sweating. I don't know how old this is and I didn't check your other drugs but you should seek actual medical attention Medical Student (While this is absolutely true, Prozac (fluoxetine) and Paxil (paroxetine) tend to do this as well, and they have succesfully been used in combination with Strattera in the past. Strattera is metabolised by another enzyme pathway when CYP3D6 is not available in big enough numbers.
Last research I found on the subject on google scholar was that the average dose had to be dropped by 10 mg/ day on average after inhibition of CYP3D6 What I would do: cut Strattera dosage in half, (80-->40), use whatever dosage of Wellbutrin your doctors suggests. Move up the strattera scale only after a month, IF you haven't freaked out or anything. Which such a big drop?
It's not just a matter of inhibition, both drugs inhibit noradrenaline, and you don't want to overkill your remedy do you? Safety first. ) Answer I take Wellbutrin 300 mg and Trileptal 300 mg.My doctor is pretty conservative and he had no hesitation about this combination But the question you are asking really should be answerable by your pharmacist, if you doubt your doctor's ability to do the research before prescribing Answer THIS RESPONSE IS NOT BASED ON LONG TERM USE: I have taken 100mg Seroquel for only 2 days.
It was prescribed to me as a sleep aid. I have rapid cycling bipolar disorder, but GETTING SOME SLEEP has been my ultimate goal. I also take 2000mg Depakote daily, and Lexapro 20mg daily, as well as 0.5mg Xanax 4 X per day as needed ( I usually need the 4 doses).
You would think that all those drugs would make me drowsy enough. Not so. Last night, after the first dose of Seroquel, and within an hour after that dose, which was combined with the Depakote, and Xanax... for the first time in YEARS I was able to go to sleep and sleep all night.
The down-side was that I was groggy this morning, and remained groggy throughout the day. I am hoping the daytime drowsiness will subside as I get used to the Seroquel. Although this may not be exactly what you were asking about, I would just like to say that the main thing you are going to be dealing with is drowsiness, because the drugs will enhance eachother's properties.
Since MY goal is to achieve tiredness, but to accomplish sleep at NIGHT time, I think I may have finally found the right drug (Seroquel). Of course, only time will tell. I took my Depakote, Xanax, and Seroquel about an hour ago, and I am definitely feeling drowsy.
The only thing that I am concerned with, from the long term use, is that my short-term memory was way off today. Perhaps that will ease off too. Hope I didn't go on too long about it all.
BestWishes Dave Answer I've been taking Wellbutrin and Strattera for about 5 weeks. I'm can't take the sweating! I'm assuming it's the Strattera.
I also feel kind of light headed a lot and don't know if the Strattera is helping or hindering my focusing. Anyone else had similar experiences with combining the two? Any other ideas about combining Wellbutrin with Adderall?
Thanks! Answer I've been on ZOLOFT for about 2 years, and have depression and ADD without hyperactivity I have been on WELLBUTRIN and STRATTERA for just about 3 1/2 weeks Initial side effects were horrendous but tapered off gradually -- insomnia & tremors (wellbutrin?) and intermittent "hazy head" (strattera? ) have remained.
As I started both about the same time, It's hard to isolate which drug is causing what I've not noticed much therapeutic effect from either. Maybe the SLIGHTEST improvement in focus -- it's not a good trade off for the side effects. I'm going to talk to my doc about getting off the Strattera and trying somethng else for the ADD Any ideas, advice, help?
Thanks, Jenna Answer I have been on Wellbutrin 300mg for about 6 years. I have been on Strattera 80mg for about 6 weeks. I take 300mg of Wellbutrin and 80mg of Strattera daily.
The Strattera picked up where the Wellbutrin left off and its effect has been beneficial. It has eliminated much of the anger I held on to and the depressions seems to be gone Answer I have cyclothymic disorder and am currently on 300mg of both strattera and wellbutrin. I find that my moods are less frequent and that I take things much more lightly. I also feel that my appetite has decreased and that I have more fatigue at night.
I am also a single mother of an infant, so, it is hard to know at this point whether the side effects are real or whether they are induced by my lifestyle and envirnment Answer according to Medline Plus info: tell your doctor and pharmacist what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. Be sure to mention any of the following: albuterol syrup or tablets (Proventil, Ventolin), amiodarone (Cordarone, Pacerone), bupropion (Wellbutrin), celecoxib (Celebrex), chlorpromazine. The PDR also cautions against bupropion (wellbutrin)...while taking strattera Answer I just started taking Strattera.
I'm currently taking 200 mg of Lamictal and 25 mg of Topomax daily. I cannot sleep! Howevr the trade off at this point is that my concentration is so improved and I can actually get things done.
I do have a prescription of Seroquel that I will again try for sleeping For those of you just trying Seroquel and one tablet is knocking you on your behind the next day, cut it in half. I have such a sensitivity to meds that I have to cut it in quarters. The first time I tried it, I got impatient and took two, it's ok, the doc said I could.
The next day I walked around in a fog and nearly fell asleep at my desk Hope this helps someone. :o) Kady Answer I would suggest if you are taking all those medications, assuming your doctor has prescribed them if you have questions whether they are a good cocktail ask the prescribing doctor. Seems that those medications would work well with each other, I would " if it were me " find out about why you were taking 2 anti depressant's.
Sometimes depending on what your diagnosis is that can be something that triggers more issues with mood swings or episodes. Taking more then one mood stabalizer or anti depressant sometimes isn't always the best way. But then again it depends on what your mental health is and what your doctor and you have come to understand about where you are and where your headed. So with that, talk with your doctor.... it's truly up to you.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
