Pro's: - If one changed their mind, they could change their vote. - If one made a mistake, they could correct it. - If one voted and wished they hadn't, they could retract the vote.
Con's: - Once someone votes, they see who gave the answers and this could influence their re-vote. - Once someone votes, they see how others voted, this could influence their re-vote. - This may promote sloppy voting habits.
Knowing one can go back and change their votes, they may not take the appropriate time to evaluate the answers the first time. The first two negatives could be addressed by hiding the information until the period for changing one's vote was over. The third negative is a relatively minor concern. So all in all I am for this feature.
I can't really see how someone could use the feature to abuse the system. It would really just help correct one's own mistakes. And after all, we do change our minds!
Pros. A person who had been given an uninteresting vote may refine the question so allowing a change would let me remove my "uninteresting" if the question is improved. If I add a tip with a vote and change my mind I can get my money back.Cons.
If I vote something interesting and add money it may be an abuse to add funds to a question then have the option to remove them. It adds to the work the IT staff of Mahalo has to do, if I had to venture a guess they have their hands full already. While I came up with two for each I think the cons outweigh the pros as I can imagine a question going up to $5 then back to $1 rapidly.
If adding a tip to a question was a seperate function from voting I would have to say that I would change my mind.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
