What are the pros and cons of owning a pug?

Ok, so i've only owned outside hunting dogs and boxers my whole life, but when my husband and I moved to an apartment in los angeles and I wanted a dog we had to think on a smaller scale. He wanted a golden retriever, but I knew one wouldn't fit and it would only suffer from no space. Well i've always loved the way pugs look so I researched them...well, obviously it appears the cons outweigh the pros and I felt a bit heart sick about it, so I further continued my research into the perfect dog for us.

We found the dog that changed our lives...a boston terrier. Smooshed face, but no eye or breathing problems (well except he snorts in bed when he's mad you moved him), no skin probs, or hip issues. BTW, he's the most athletic one in the house!

He gets me hiking up in the griffith park mountains and has my husband out everyday throwing the frisbee across the huge field at the autry museum for hours. He's a natural athlete! In summer we go to long beach dog beach at least once a week where he runs up and down the beach with me and tries his best to tussle with the great danes and out run the german shepards.

Ive never had such a big dog! He weighs a total of 25 lbs, but don't call him small, he thinks he's a pit bull. I have seen some bug eyed bostons, and I say avoid the googly eyed ones bc they walk into stuff and hurt their eyes all the time.

Our boy is totally a daddy and mommas boy. They need that male and female ownership, bc he snuggles quietly with me on the couch and watches movies and the other half the time keeps my husband throwing the ball and frisbee. They need to sleep inside with you, but if you put a bit of fish oil in their food once a week they don't stink and their coat is shiny and healthy.

Oh, and he's smart as hell! He never liked dissapointing us so he was house trained by 8 weeks old, and I walk him w/o a leash daily. Best dog ive ever known and I strongly recommend this breed to anyone.

The pros are and cons of owning a pug (without quotes):. The pros are designated by the color of their uniforms.

Rgcbpaper. A Camaro is a great car to have, especially if you want have an American muscle car that gives you that cool power feel. As far as the pros go, Camaro's give you excellent performance while fuel economy is pretty damned good considering their power.

Also, Camaro's have distinctive styling. As far as the con's go, they are well over priced and have known quality control fit/finish issues. These are the basic pros and cons of the the modern Camaro.

I personally had a white 89 Camaro, and owned it for about a year. If you asked me personally, I will tell you, of all the cars I've owned, that Camaro was by far, the most fun. The sound of the engine, the instant pick up in speed the minute I pushed the peddle, the attention I got from people, is something I'll never forget.

If your looking for a strong car that makes a statement, that's one of the best pros a Camaro will offer.

I've got to put my disclaimer out that I do not have a husky. Therefore I would quickly defer to a husky owner. However, I have a malamute in our family and they share many similar traits.

I've also read a lot on them So with that being said I'll let you know what I know :)pro list: Very pack/family oriented, very affectionate, very fun to play with, great exercise partner, very pretty, going along with their pack orientation they feel like a part of the family much more than a pet, as Nspeel said very social, generally very healthy. Ghly intelligentCon list: massive amounts of shedding, can be stubborn and won't listen if they don't want too, requires a lot of time investment in exercise and training, can't be left alone for long periods of time for mental health reasons (pack dog), requires a high amount of dog knowledge to understand how to be the alpha in the relationship (its not a given with this breed), can be very destructive if needs aren't met, can be very aggressive if socialization is not started at an early age. I've seen some great hubs on this specific question, search them out for a lot more detail.

This is just a nice quick list from my memory and experience. Hope that helps!

Cons: shedding all over everywhere all year longPros: amazing pets very social and listen very well.

I have an 8 year old female Siberian Husky. The good thing is that Huskies aren't always "up in your face" type of dogs. They are quite independent and normally have a decent temperament.

If you are a active person, they make great running partners because that's what they were bred to do, run across ice for long distances. This is also a con though because if they don't get daily exercise they WILL become destructive with furniture and your personal belongings. They are very high energy dogs which can be either a pro or con depending on the owner and their schedule.

They have no sense of home so if they get out, they are gone so it is important to have them chipped and tagged. Their coats require daily brushing because they shed year round and this is a con unless you are in the business of knitting sweaters which some people actually do out of Siberian Husky hair. A pro to this is that they do come in different colors.

Not just the black and white that is the most common coloring. My Sophie is copper and white. Huskies come in gray, copper, brown and even solid white.

A pro is also that they are very verbal. They howl (which can also be a con) but they also do what most Husky owners call "woo woo" which is exactly what it sounds like. They make an odd sound that sounds like they are saying woo woo.

Their bark also sounds different than other dog breeds of their size. I love mine because to me, the pros outweigh the cons. :).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
