The symptoms of meningitis in children can be the same as a cold or the flu (runny nose, vomiting, fever, headache, feeling and looking sick). But a child can also experience a stiff neck, sensitivity to light, seizures, and skin rashes. In infants, it's a little harder to tell, with the main symptoms being hard-core irritability, jaundice, fever or low temperature, or a bulging fontanel (the soft spot in the skull).
