1. The blockade is was use as a security measure.2. The blockade was created as an anti-Hamas tactic.
3. The blockade was use as a means of freeing captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. The above information was taken from peacenow.org/entries/post_6 Has the blockade accomplished these goals?
According to the article the blockade hasn't accomplished these goals especially number 2 and 3. Although the main reason for the blockade is security it has fail to stop the flow of weapons into Gaza. Also the blockade took a turn for the worst due to the due to the incident between the Israelis commandos and a relief flotilla.
----quote---- ISRAEL'S BLOCKADE of Gaza is crumbling. In the wake of last week's clash between Israelis commandos and militants on a relief flotilla, the world at large has condemned it; the Obama administration has called it "unsustainable." Egypt reopened its crossing into Gaza for humanitarian aid and some travel.
But the solution is not as simple as simply ending the checks on sea and land traffic by Israel. What's needed is a new regime that addresses the legitimate needs of Palestinians in Gaza without further empowering Hamas and its patron, Iran. ----quote---- Information quoted from http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/07/AR2010060703785.html.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
