What can be done to physically and mentally prepare for trekking?

Trekking can be done in many ways depending upon ones’ ability and enthusiasm. Here are some interesting info related to trekking which I read and enjoyed and would like to share with others. The whole credit goes to Elizabeth Smith on her ehow article.
