And thank you for your question. The best thing to do if your cat's hair gets matted is to try and comb it out with a grooming comb. While many cats will resist this tactic you will have to be gently and patient with you cat as you try to get the mats out.
Try to only do one a day. If that cat has really bad mats that are down to the skin you will have to cut them out. Be very careful not to cut the cats skin as it's really easy to do.
