Contact an attorney who specializes in Probate. Your mother died intestate, but she left assets. State law and the Probate Court (and don't forget the IRS regarding tax return filing and paying taxes) determine the disposition of the property and any other assets, as well as the bills, your mother left.

With 8 children, the court will probably determine that the house be sold to pay the bills, taxes, probate costs, etc, and the remainder divided 8 ways. That would be the most likely outcome in most states. If the estate is not probated in accordance with state law, you have bigger problems than this spat over the house!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
