What causes the meat in stone crabs to shrink, creating floaters?

Stone Crab claws called floaters happen when the crab molts. After a stone crab molts it needs about a week to harden it's shell and fill in the meat. If you leave the crab long enough it will be full of firm meat.

I can usually tell which crab claws will be floaters by their feel and color. I leave them in the trap for a week or so and then I'm rewarded with nice crab meat. I don't think floaters are that good I feed them to my cats.

Hope this helps.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
