What changed between the castles in the middle ages and the ones in renaissance?

Castles evolved as time went on for several reasons. Warfare changed and gun powder was introduced. Gunpowder probably resulted in the largest change because the original castles were wooden and they changed to stone.

Yet, the stone "outer look" of the castle wasn't as always as solid as it looked. Many times it was a faux wall of stone with rubble between two walls. Castles also go bigger and became status symbols It was "my castle is bigger than yours" thinking. As time went on war also changed and the taking of a castle became less and less common instead there were great battles that took places resulting in huge losses of men.

By the time of the Renaissance the castle was less defensive and more status. The ones we see today that are still in use have been changed and look less like what they did even in the Renaissance. During the 1700-1900's they were added too, decorated on the outside, leaded windows added, and romantic influences included.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
