The point is he saved us even though we didn't deserve it, not in a million years. Christianity holds that all have sinned and we all deserve to pay the price for our sin - which is hell, the second death. We've all screwed up, monumentally.
We've all corrupted ourselves, sinned in selfish thought, word and deed, and there is no way of redeeming ourselves by our own efforts. The most righteous and just judgment is for us to pay the price for our sin in hell. Hell is not some 'immoral' thing.
Hell is absolute justice. But, Jesus saved us! Jesus didn't need to save us.
Jesus would have been perfectly justified in letting us pay the price for our sin himself. Jesus could have even just snapped his fingers and forgiven us and gone about his day. But he didn't.
Instead he WILLINGLY chose to pay the price FOR us. He willingly went to the cross and died a horrific death and paid the price for us in our place, so we would be forgiven and would have eternal life. Why?
Because he LOVES us that much. He died for even the vilest, most undeserving sinner. How could we possibly repay him?
What does he ask for in return? -Nothing! Only that we accept this gift of eternal life and live in the way we were supposed to - for him, for all that is good.
For love. And to show others the same love that he showed us.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
