What could be wrong when my 1989 Chevy Caprice makes a click noise when I try to start it but it doesn't start?

Answer to the click Two MOST probable in the order I'd be checking....Low battery charge or defective battery....Loose or corroded battery cable connections. Secondly, you possibly have a defective starter or starter solenoid. Good Luck!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
