What country is Brijuni National Park in?

Brijuni National Park is located in Croatia. The nearest large city from the Brijuni Islands is Pula, about 2 km. In distance.

The Brijuni National Park consists 14 smaller islands, and islets. The main tourist attraction is Veliki Brijuni which means large or big. This is approx.12 sq.Km.

Here you will see the Summer Residence of the Former Yugoslav Leader, Marshal Tito. Brijuni was declared a National Park in 1983, and until 1991, when Croatia gained their Independence, This was part of the former Yugoslavia. The Park itself is divided into two Parks, The Ethno Park, where you will be able to see mainly local wildlife such as, Istrian Ox, Sheep, Donkeys and Goats.

The Safari Park has an exotic collection of animals, which were mainly gifts from different countries, to Tito. These include Blue Antelope from India, Marsh Antelope from Zambia, Somalian Sheep from Ethiopia, Llama from South America, Zebra from Guinea, and cattle and Elephants from India. There are no lions, at present.

There are also wonderful Peacocks that wander the Summer Residence grounds.
