The qin dynasty (Shi Huang di) was legalist and actually buried Confuciust protesters alive, and had book burnings of the Analects(The Confuscist Book) were common. In the Han Dynasty (emperor Wud) Buddishm was first introduced into China. During the Han Dynasty China was tolerant to other ideals and philosophies.
