No one really knows - the Robin myth is widely believed to be made up of several different people all rolled into one being and romanticised to a fare-thee-well. Some versions of the legend have it that he was a poor man who decided to rob from the rich to give to the poor, others say that he was the son of a Noble and was really called 'Robin of Loxley' - either way he is a myth and a romanticism.
Robin hood was born in Wakefield West Yorkshire in the renaissance period in Europe, when Sherwood forest spanned from Nottingham to yorkshire and he is burried somwhere in Leeds. Check here for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Hood.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
