Loved it, especially the "Craigslist Dancers. " Also, the Anne Hathaway bit was a nice touch. She seems to be a nice girl, lots of potential, willing to have a little fun with the show.
Thing that always bugs me, after the opening bit, the host's duties are subdued and/or non-existent. I thought Hugh did a good job of poking fun but still respecting the Hollywood traditions. No Jack Nicholson jokes though.Sad.
I was pleasantly surprised. He can sing and dance. I thought it was a bit cutesy, but having recently been reminded of the horrendous 1989 opening, it could have been much worse: youtube.com/watch?v=-qeygd0qPDM.
I love it when people interact with the crowd like that. It just makes the intro more interesting and keeps the audience awake and interactive. He has a strong character who always loves to make jokes yet nothing offensive. So all in all, I thought it was great.
I thought it was fantastic. It was nice how he involved the audience. When he started laughing during the reader bit was priceless.
He genuinely looked like he had a great time. It was nice to see it all as a "tongue in cheek" opening.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
